Work, Work, Work… and Beauty

Work, work, work… and beauty. That’s the summary of Amiglia these days.

Our neighbour Marco and his men have been working hard to build a water tank inside the barn, to collect rainwater. Next to the water tank, they will build a shower and toilet cabin next week for people arriving with their van or tent.

Rian has been working everywhere, making everything look beautiful. She is the primary caretaker of Amiglia. She works in the garden, in the rooms, and in the kitchen; she takes care of guests, and also of Marco and his men—bringing them coffee in the morning, tea and biscuits in the afternoon.

“Would I still do this if nobody saw it?” she asked herself this week. “Yes, I would,” was her answer. Her dedication comes from love—love for Amiglia, love for life, love for the unfolding of the present moment, love for the beauty of Amiglia that she helps uncover. She is not waiting to be praised. She is free.

Feeling that love and energy, seeing beauty emerge, experiencing that life can be so simple and moving at the same time—these are her rewards. And they are self-reinforcing.

Zoe works mostly behind the scenes—and behind a screen. One guest this week called her the heartbeat of Amiglia. Not only because of everything she does, but perhaps also because of everything she doesn’t do. She is the gentle pulse that ignites Amiglia and continues to care for simplicity, clarity, softness, and a natural flow. “Leading by not leading,” she sometimes calls it.

At Amiglia, we each find our own way to bridge the grounded and the transcendent.

Soon, Zoe will also be guiding a few retreats, all centred around remembering our true nature and unique expression. Find more information by clicking on the links below.

Warmest,
